Abstract

In about 4% up to 19% of cases, the renal cell carcinomas (RCC) are complicated by intravascular tumor thrombus. Radical nephrectomy with caval thrombectomy is the only option to obtain local control of the disease, with durable oncologic results in about 50% of patients. The purpose of this study is to show the results of the surgical approach without cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) in patients with RCC and level 4 thrombosis of the inferior vena cava (IVC), between March 2016 and October 2019 at our institute.
